Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Please read the following Privacy Policy carefully and contact us if you need assistance or clarifications.


Pulsar Law (“Firm” “us”, “we”, “our”) values the protection of your Personal Information.  

This Privacy Policy is developed in light of the regulating legislation, Personal Information Protection Act (“PIPA”), regarding the use, disclosure, and collection of data and personal information obtained through the Firm’s website or other interactions with us. 




1.  Why is Personal Information Required? 

Personal information means all information about an identifiable individual. 


Personal information is required for the Firm to communicate with our client and potential client and provide our client legal advice. 


This information may include personal information about our clients and individuals who are not our client. From time to time, the Firm may collect further personal information from you as necessary to assist your legal needs.


Personal information is also required for this website to function properly. By using or accessing the website, you agree that GoDaddy, our website hosting service provider, and other service providers such as Microsoft and Google will collect cookie and other personal information from you. 2.  What Information is Collected? 

The Firm will collect limited personal information from you, including your first and last name, email address, text of your inquiry, your interaction with the Firm’s website including Cookie Information, and other information you provide to us. 


In some circumstances, we may require additional personal information to be collected for client identification and verification purposes, which can include your occupation information, business address and contact number, and copies of personal identification documents and your credit file.


The Firm will limit the collection of information to that which is reasonable and necessary for our purposes. However, we will also collect information as is otherwise required by law. 




3. How Does the Firm Collect, Use, and Disclose Personal Information? 

The Firm may collect personal information directly from you, which can include information collected through your interaction with our website, such as by booking a consultation online or viewing the website, or communications with us, such as through emailing or calling us. The Firm may indirectly collect your personal information, particularly while direct collection is not practical or feasible. 


By availing of the services of the Firm, you hereby consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as set out in this Privacy Policy. Subject to exceptions in the PIPA, the Firm will obtain your consent before any other personal information is disclosed, used, or collected. Subject to legal and contractual requirements, you can withdraw your consent at anytime. However, if you choose to withdraw your consent, the Firm may not be able to continue to represent you or provide services or information. 


In some circumstances, the PIPA permits the Firm to collect personal information without consent, including (but not limited to) when the personal information is about a third-party individual and is disclosed to the Firm for the purpose of seeking legal advice. The PIPA also deems that the individual has consented to the collection, use, or disclosure when, at the time of the individual is deemed to provide such consent, the purpose would be obvious to a reasonable person. 


By using our services, you grant us permission to collect, use, and disclose personal information that is relevant to provide you legal representation and legal services, to contact you, to respond to your inquiries, and to conduct other activities required by applicable law and regulation. 


The Firm do not sell, rent or disclose your personal information to third parties without your consent, unless it is required or authorized by law. 



4.  Retention and Security Measures 

The Firm uses industry-standard security measures to safeguard your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or disposal. Personal information will only be stored for a period as reasonably necessary in accordance with the rules of the Law Society of British Columbia. Although the Firm aims to prevent security breaches, the Firm cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hacking, data loss or breaches of our security systems will never occur.  



5. Access to Personal Information

You may submit personal information access request to the Firm by writing to info@pulsarlaw.ca. All requests will be handled in accordance with the PIPA. In some situations, your request may be denied or partially denied as we are obligated or permitted by PIPA to refuse the disclosure of personal information under relevant provisions.



6. Use of Service Providers 

We may use serviced provided by other companies (“Service Providers”), such as Google and GoDaddy, to provide services on our behalf, including marketing services, website hosting services, email services, payment processors and other services as required. We supply our services provides only the necessary information required for them to fulfill their services. 


You acknowledge and agree that the Firm is not responsible for the privacy practices of those Service Providers that provide services on our behalf. For additional information, you should review the Service Providers' privacy policies, including Google, Microsoft, and GoDaddy. 


7. Changes to the Policy 

We may update this privacy policy periodically to reflect changes to our privacy practices. We encourage you to periodically review this page to ensure you are familiar with those changes.
